Grom top speed?
Hi all, Looking at a bit of a change in pace for bikes, and considering picking up a Grom. My question is, what's the effective top speed of a Grom with a 90-100kg rider? I occasionally commute to work on the bike and it means getting onto at least one stretch of road with a 90km/h speed limit. Can a Grom do this stock or with light modifications?

180lbs. here. Carbon Yoshi exhaust, K&N intake mod & Power Commander tune. 68 is easily doable on flat with a slight tuck. 73mph. on the rev limiter all day downhill. Loud as fuck.

160lb rider, flat ground, no draft I can hit about 70 on mine. With a draft, I can top it out at 76.
Yoshi RS9 full exhaust
Chimera intake
Kitaco clutch cover
Power commander 5 with rev extend on
Wideband commander 2
Superlight sprockets

I'm 230 pounds and mine will get to about 55MPH on a non windy day. I'm very tall and broad shouldered so I catch a lot of wind, though. I've had days where I'm driving into a 15-20mph wind and it's all I can do to break 35MPH, but that was on a wide open road with nothing to break the wind anywhere around. Through the city it's no problem to get to 50MPH.

0-100 = maybe
i weigh 95kg and i can do 110km/h but only on the very flat and nice parts of the autobahn.

When it was new I was doing good to hit 55. After 1500 miles it was like something magical happened and now I can hit 60-65 depending on the day and road.

Ive done 72mph or 117km/h with tail wind. 180lb rider with airbox mod and exhaust

210lbs (95kg). Bone stock Grom. Comfortable about 45mph (70kph) pushed it to 56 mph (91kph) on flat... (Still in my break-in period) I would strongly recommend that you look at mods (or something bigger). Even though the bike can do 60mph (100kph) once you get up to that speed there's nothing left to get you out of a bad situation if shit goes sideways. Food for thought.
Edit: editorialized and added conversions.

I am 180 lbs and I have hit 66 going downhill. I put the MNNTHBX exhaust on and it seems like I have lost power...can hardly hit 60.

I'm 220, 5'9" and I can do 60-65 if it's not too windy.

I have the Yoshi Carbon RS9, Chimera intake, 36t rear sprocket, and just installed a 140/70-12 on the back in place of the 130/70-12. My gauge is off but I can hit rev limiter in 4th with the wind at my back. Still need to compare gauge reading to GPS to see how far I'm off. I'm 6'5.5" and 180 lbs.

I have hit 60 mph but have mods done. This is also at high elevat

I'm 97kg and top speed I've gotten is 106 km/h

I've hit 110km as well going downhill with the wind against my back

I'm 90'ish kg's. Full arrow system is the only performance themed mod. I've had it bouncing off the rev limiter in 4th at 80mph indicated, but probably mid 70's in reality; flat road, no wind, full tuck, and feet on rear pegs.
I commute on 60mph (97kph) roads regularly and can keep around that with no issue really.

Well seeing as how 90km/h is the speed limit, you should be good doing less.
